Why Consign with The Furniture Exchange?
The Furniture Exchange has been in business since 2001 and is known in town as The Best Upscale Furniture, Home Accessory & Art Consignment Store around. We value our consignors and always strive to sell your items at best price possible. Avoid online selling with strangers visiting your home, avoid selling your valuable pieces in a garage sale where you practically give it away and work so hard! Let us do the work for you in a beautiful showroom setting that customers have come to love and visit on a weekly basis.
How can I show you the items I want to consign?
We ask that you take pictures of the items you are interested in consigning and send them to us via email at consignx@gmail.com. Also, please include as much information as possible such as the makermanufacturer, how long you’ve owned it, when was the last time it was refinished etc.
What condition does the furniture have to be in to be accepted?
We ask that the items be in “next to new” condition. We will not take any Upholstered furniture with pet hair, stains, tear or damaged fabric or fabric discoloration. Wood pieces should have no scratches or minimum scratches and we ask that you point out any damages to avoid having items brought in that will not be accepted once inspected.
How do I get the furniture to The Furniture Exchange?
If you can carry it, you can feel free to bring it in at any time (of course call to schedule!), however if you need assistance, make sure to bring some helping hands with you. If items are to heavy or large to bring in yourself we are happy to arrange it for you with reliable and affordable companies we’ve worked with for years. Mostly 95% of our consignors and buyers use our preferred movers.
How do you price my item?
The Furniture Exchange strives to get you the highest possible price for your merchandise. However, it is in everyone’s best interest to price items at a fair market value that will realistically sell within 30 days. In reality, it is market response to an item that truly “sets the price.” The Furniture Exchange reserves the right to reduce or discount prices without consignor approval.
How long is the consignment period?
The consignment period is 90 days. Should items not sell, you have three options: 1) Pick them up within 10 days of expiration, 2) Ask us to donate them to donate them to charity, 3) Ask us to sell items at the best price they can obtain. (The Furniture Exchange reserves the right not to extend the consignment period on expired items.)
When do I get paid and how much?
You receive 50% of the selling price (minus a $2 check fee); The Furniture Exchange does all the work. Checks are cut by the 5th of the month for all sales for the previous month. You can swing by and pick up your check, any check not picked up by the 15th will be mailed out to the address on the consignment agreement.
